PESHAWAR: Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day was celebrated across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with colorful events, fireworks, national songs and large public gatherings.
In Peshawar, Independence Day celebrations were held at Qayyum Sports Complex, where a spectacular fireworks display attracted a large number of people. The city was decorated with national flags, while children took part in face-painting activities and young people joined the festivities.
A large gathering was also witnessed around Bala Hisar Fort and various parts of the city and cantonment areas as families and youngsters came out to celebrate the national day.
At the Rescue 1122 provincial headquarters, a special Independence Day ceremony was organised in the presence of Director General Rescue 1122 Shah Fahad. The DG interacted with rescue personnel and children as the venue echoed with national songs and chants of “Pakistan Zindabad”. A fireworks display added to the celebrations.
In Buner, residents also marked Independence Day with a special celebration night. People gathered in large numbers, cut Independence Day cakes, sang national songs and offered prayers for the country’s security, stability and prosperity. Fireworks were also held as part of the celebrations.
At Khanspur Ground, the Galiyat Development Authority organised a colourful fireworks show, while the final of Hazara’s largest cricket tournament also drew considerable public interest.
The celebrations reflected the enthusiasm of people across KP, with citizens participating in activities to mark the country’s 79th Independence Day with national pride and patriotic spirit.
