LAHORE: Pakistan will face England in the fourth match of the Tri-Nation One-Day International (ODI) Cricket Series at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday (today).

The match will start at 1:30pm and has been dedicated to Pink Day to raise awareness about breast cancer. Signed shirts of Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi and star batter Babar Azam will be put up for auction, with the proceeds going towards the treatment of women affected by the disease.

Pakistan are currently at the top of the points table, while England are at the bottom after losing their opening two matches against Pakistan and Sri Lanka. A win would take Pakistan into the final, while another defeat would leave England facing elimination from the tournament.

England, the 2019 World Cup champions, will be looking to revive their campaign after consecutive defeats. Their negative net run rate of 0.892 has added to the pressure ahead of Sunday’s contest.

Pakistan, meanwhile, will aim to maintain their strong start and confirm their place in the title decider before facing Sri Lanka in their remaining league match on October 27.

Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance in the tri-series and said he was optimistic about maintaining the momentum in the upcoming matches.Speaking about young cricketer Saim Ayub, Shaheen praised his abilities as a spin bowler and fielder.

He said that he was also working hard to improve his batting. He said players were often judged negatively on the basis of just one or two series, stressing the importance of taking a broader view of an individual’s performance and development.

Pakistan will rely on their batting, bowling and fielding to overcome England and secure a place in the final. Following Today’s match, Pakistan will play Sri Lanka on October 27, while Sri Lanka and England will meet on October 29. The final is scheduled for October 31 at Gaddafi Stadium.
