QUETTA: The security sources have dismissed social media reports claiming an attack on a Frontier Works Organization (FWO) site in Lilan, Turbat district of Balochistan and targeting Pakistani forces, labeling them as false and baseless.
According to security sources, the claims were circulated by a propaganda account linked to the banned terrorist organization Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). The account has a history of spreading fabricated and misleading information against the Pakistan Armed Forces and other state institutions.
Several accounts including those linked to the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), Baloch Youth Council (BYC), and Indian-funded X (formerly Twitter) accounts are spreading false reports of violence in mining areas and alleged attacks on FWO sites, claiming injuries to workers and security personnel. Officials described these reports as “completely baseless and strategically orchestrated.”

“These actors are increasingly nervous about Balochistan taking its destiny and development into its own hands through mining and technological advancement,” a security source said. “There has been no such incident at any FWO site, and all personnel remain safe.”
Authorities have urged the public and media outlets to rely on verified information and avoid sharing unconfirmed reports that could disrupt social stability or undermine the region’s economic progress.
