A new powerful rain-bearing system is set to enter the country today, and the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast the start of another spell of monsoon rains from August 27.
According to the Met Office, thunderstorms with rain are likely in several cities, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad, starting August 27. The weather department said the system will bring showers and gusty winds to different parts of the country and may continue for a few days.
For the federal capital, the forecast for today is hot and dry weather. The sky will remain partly cloudy, and the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 35 degrees Celsius.
Humidity levels may rise by evening as the new system approaches. Meteorologists have advised citizens to stay updated as the monsoon spell could bring heavy downpours in some areas, which may lead to urban flooding and disrupt daily routines.
Farmers have also been told to take precautionary measures for standing crops. The Met Office will continue to issue updates as the system moves further into the country.
