Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has revealed that he was offered roles in Bollywood during his cricket career, but he decided not to enter the film industry.

Speaking on Tabish Hashmi’s show on August 27, 2026, Shoaib Akhtar said there was a time when he seriously considered acting. He disclosed that he was offered a role in Imran Hashmi’s hit film Gangster.

He further revealed that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan had also personally offered him a film. Several filmmakers believed he could easily play villain roles on screen due to his fierce personality and presence.

Despite his interest in acting, Shoaib Akhtar said he quickly realized it would not be easy to pursue both cricket and a film career together. To give his full focus to cricket, he made the decision to turn down the offers.

The Rawalpindi Express, known as one of the fastest bowlers in cricket history, retired after representing Pakistan in Tests, ODIs and T20Is, and later became a cricket analyst and TV personality.
