ISLAMABAD: In a significant development for foreign nationals seeking employment in Saudi Arabia, new rules regarding holidays and absences have been introduced under the Saudi labour law.

As per a statement released by the Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment in Islamabad, the new rules are applicable to all foreigners in Saudi Arabia. It has been stated that any person willing to work in Saudi Arabia should be a minimum age of 21 years. In addition, all terms of the employment contract should be fulfilled.

It has also been specified that under the new rule, any worker who does not report back on time from annual leave would be treated as being absent. In addition, in case any worker remains absent continuously for 30 days or intermittently for 60 days, the employment contract could be terminated.

As per statements made by Bureau officials, these rules will be followed strictly to maintain discipline among foreign workers in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia orders all foreigners to leave Makkah by April 18th

Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has issued a stern directive ahead of the upcoming Hajj season, instructing all foreign nationals, except those holding Hajj visas, to leave the holy city of Makkah by April 18th. Those found in violation of the order will face hefty fines and possible imprisonment.

As per the announcement, only people who have Hajj visas will be allowed to stay in Makkah after April 28th. Other people who have Umrah visas, visit permits, or other kinds of permits will be asked to leave the city before April 18th.

In case of any violation of the order, strict actions would be taken against violators, such as imposition of heavy fines and imprisonment.

Moreover, foreigners residing in Saudi Arabia will not be allowed to enter Makkah after April 13th without carrying any permit. These measures have been taken to ensure that all the arrangements for Hajj are made efficiently and easily for pilgrims.
