ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Zahid has praised young cricketer Ali Raza, describing him as a serious threat for batters due to his pace, control, and wicket-taking ability.

Commenting during an interview, ex-fast bowler Mohammad Zahid has said that Ali Raza is a gifted young bowler and could pose serious problems for batting line-ups in the years to come if he works further on his skills.

According to Mohammad Zahid, his pace and discipline will serve as the two main factors which could prove beneficial for Ali Raza, as they have the potential of taking him to greater heights of his career in domestic as well as international cricket.

Ali Raza is considered as one of the most talented fast bowlers of Pakistan cricket.

Injury hits Pakistan hard before ODI series against Australia

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s top-order batters Fakhar Zaman and Saem Ayub have been ruled out of the three-match ODI series against Australia due to injuries.

It is reported by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that they are still recuperating and under treatment and thus are unable to feature in the ODI series.

The ODI series begins on May 30 at Rawalpindi Stadium, while the second and third matches are slated to be played on June 2 and June 4 respectively at Qaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

While Saem Ayub’s exclusion from the list of players can prove costly for Pakistan, he has provided some outstanding innings for Pakistan since debuting last year in 2024 in ODIs. On the other hand, Fakhar Zaman has been a key element in the one-day batting lineup of Pakistan for a couple of years now.

Wishing both of the injured players an early recovery, the PCB promised updates about the selected players and other injury situations shortly.
