SYLHET: Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Abbas achieved two significant career milestones during the ongoing second Test against Bangladesh national cricket team, further strengthening his place among the country’s leading pace bowlers.

The experienced pacer reached 100 wickets in overseas Test matches after dismissing Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto in Sylhet. With this achievement, Abbas became only the sixth Pakistani fast bowler to reach the landmark, joining an elite group that includes Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Umar Gul and Mohammad Amir.

Notably, Abbas now holds the best bowling average among Pakistani bowlers with 100 or more overseas Test wickets, maintaining an impressive average of 23.02.

Overall, the 36-year-old has taken 109 Test wickets in overseas conditions across 51 innings, while claiming just nine wickets in home Tests in Pakistan.

In addition to his Test achievement, Abbas also reached another milestone in his professional career by completing 1,000 wickets across all formats. His tally includes 884 first-class wickets, 84 List A wickets, and 32 T20 wickets.

The double milestone highlights Abbas’s consistency and longevity in domestic and international cricket, particularly in challenging overseas conditions.
