PESHAWAR: The Federal government will hand over modern vehicles to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to maintain the law and order situation in the province.
According to sources, it has been decided to provide modern armoured vehicles to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police to strengthen its capacity, particularly in the security-affected areas.
Preparations are underway to hand over the modern armoured vehicles to KP Police. The vehicles have already been delivered to the Governor’s House in Peshawar.
According to sources, the cost of each armoured vehicle is in crores of rupees, and they are equipped with modern safety features and bulletproof technology.
The sources said that these vehicles will be provided to the police in the merged tribal districts, where police personnel often face security challenges and terrorist threats.
A formal ceremony will be organized at the Governor House Peshawar to hand over the vehicles to the police department.
Speaking in this regard, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that the establishment of peace and order in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the top priority and all possible resources are being utilized to equip law enforcement agencies with modern requirements.
He said that the provision of armoured vehicles will not only help in improving the performance of the police but will also ensure the safety of the personnel performing duties in sensitive areas.
