ISLAMABAD: The federal government has issued formal notifications regarding the appointment, transfer and extension of the tenure of several senior civil and police officers, following approval by the prime minister.
According to the Establishment Division, the contract of Information Technology and Telecommunication Secretary Zarar Hasham Khan has been extended for one year with effect from September 4, 2026. He will continue to serve as secretary of the ministry during the extended period.
The tenure of Prime Minister’s Office Joint Secretary Jahangir Mushtaq Warraich has also been extended for one year, from July 28, 2026, to July 27, 2027.
In another major appointment, Grade-21 Secretariat Group officer Muhammad Riaz-ud-Din Khan, who was previously serving as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD), has been appointed Executive Director of the State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan.
Several changes have also been made involving officers of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP).
Under the orders issued by the Establishment Division, the services of Grade-20 officer Naveed Ahmed Nisar Khawaja have been placed at the disposal of the Federal Constabulary, while the services of Grade-20 officer Muhammad Karim Khan have been placed at the disposal of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The government has also approved leave for Grade-20 police officer Imran Shahid until September 15, 2026.
Meanwhile, the services of Grade-19 police officer Ahsan Saifullah have been placed at the disposal of the Punjab government.
The Establishment Division said the appointments, transfers and extensions were made with the approval of the prime minister.
