LAHORE: The Punjab government has carried out a major bureaucratic reshuffle, appointing senior officers to key administrative positions as part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve the efficiency of the provincial administration.
According to a notification issued by the Punjab chief secretary, senior bureaucrat Iftikhar Ali Sahoo has been appointed as the new Additional Chief Secretary Punjab.
Under the new appointments, Muhammad Umar Masood has been posted as Secretary Agriculture, while Zaid Bin Maqsood has been appointed Secretary Industries, Commerce and Investment.
The notification further stated that Muhammad Jehanzaib has been appointed Secretary Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD), while Syed Muhammad Masood Nauman has been posted as Secretary, Archives and Libraries Wing.
Government sources said the administrative changes are aimed at enhancing efficiency, transparency and the overall functioning of provincial departments.
The new appointments take immediate effect, with the officers expected to assume their responsibilities shortly.
Officials said the reshuffle forms part of the Punjab government’s broader agenda to improve governance, implement administrative reforms and strengthen the performance of key sectors, particularly agriculture, industry and investment.
