PESHAWAR: The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has ordered senior-level appointments and transfers within the provincial police force in the public interest, according to an official notification issued on July 28.
The notification states that the transfers take immediate effect. Under the reshuffle, PSP Grade-20 officer Shaukat Abbas has been transferred from his position as Director General, Coordination Unit for the Implementation of Law and Order Measures, and appointed as Commandant of the Police Training College (PTC), Hangu.
Meanwhile, PSP Grade-20 officer Sher Akbar, who has been serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Welfare, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has been assigned the additional charge of Director General, Coordination Unit for the Implementation of Law and Order Measures, while continuing to perform his existing responsibilities.
The notification further stated that PSP Grade-20 officer Rizwan Manzoor, previously serving as Commandant, PTC Hangu, has been directed to report to the Central Police Office (CPO), Peshawar, in connection with his participation in the 125th National Management Course (NMC).
According to the official order, the appointments and transfers have been made in the public interest under the powers conferred by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Act, 2017, and are effective immediately.
The notification bears the signature of Provincial Police Officer (PPO) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed (PSP), with copies forwarded to the relevant departments and officers for implementation.
