ISLAMABAD: A ship carrying Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) from Oman reached Pakistan last night, easing the LPG crisis in the country.
Following the tension in the Middle East and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, like other countries, Pakistan was likely to be hit by the LPG crisis; however, the government of Pakistan made efforts to secure petroleum products and secured the LPG consignment from Oman, which reached Pakistan last night.
According to official sources, the ship was carrying 3,800 metric tons of LPG and was to be offloaded at Port Qasim for SSGC.
According to sources, due to a system fault, the LPG could not be offloaded from the ship yet, and the ship is standing at the outer anchorage.
According to the spokesperson, another ship carrying LPG from Iraq will reach Pakistan tomorrow, while a ship carrying 52,000 metric tons of coal has already reached Port Qasim.
