KHYBER: Businessmen and students in Bara, Khyber district, continue to suffer due to the absence of a telephone exchange, leaving them deprived of quality internet and landline telephone services.
According to our correspondent Jehanzeb Khan from Khyber, the non-functional telecom infrastructure has severely impacted daily life in the area. Business owners say they are unable to process online orders, communicate with suppliers, and use digital payment systems, resulting in major financial losses.
Students are among the worst affected. With no reliable internet or landline connections, they are unable to attend online classes, submit assignments, or access research material. Many students who depend on the internet for studies and exams have been forced to travel to nearby areas just to get a stable connection.
Local residents and traders have repeatedly demanded that authorities install a telephone exchange in Bara to provide basic telecom and broadband facilities. They say the lack of connectivity is holding back education, business, and overall development in the region.
