PESHAWAR: To improve rescue operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the PTI government has decided to purchase two new helicopters.
This was told the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly when it met with Speaker Babar Swati in the chair. During the proceedings, Aftab Alam Khan, provincial Law Minister, told the House that the government has decided to purchase two helicopters for rescue operations.
He added that in this connection, a summary has been sent to Chief Minister Sohail Khan Afridi for approval. On this, the Speaker of the Assembly asked that the provincial government had decided to purchase drones for rescue services, have drones been purchased for rescue, if not, why were they not purchased so far?
Why does the government not purchase helicopters, does the government not have money? The Speaker Babar Swati asked the Law Minister and added that the government should contact the army to evacuate the people trapped in Kalam.
It is worth mentioning here that the provincial government at present has only one helicopter, while more helicopters are needed for natural disasters and other assignments.
