PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police has promoted 118 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) to the rank of Sub-Inspector (SI) in Malakand Division, marking the first time that such a large number of officers have been promoted in a single phase.
The Departmental Promotion Committee approved the promotions during a meeting held at the Regional Police Office in Saidu Sharif, chaired by Regional Police Officer (RPO) Malakand, Syed Fida Hassan Shah.
The committee reviewed promotion cases for Assistant Sub-Inspectors from the division’s nine districts before approving promotions for 118 officers to the rank of Sub-Inspector.
The meeting was attended by District Police Officers Swat and Buner, Muhammad Umar Khan and Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, respectively, SP Investigation Shangla Saleem Amanullah Khan, and ADIG Regional Police Office Naeem Khan.
Congratulating the newly promoted officers, RPO Syed Fida Hassan Shah said that promotion was not only an honour but also brought greater responsibilities.
He directed the promoted officers to perform their duties with honesty, dedication and professional commitment, while making the protection of citizens’ lives and property their top priority.
The RPO also urged the officers to contribute to improving police performance and maintaining the department’s reputation, while working to further strengthen public trust in the police.
