PESHAWAR: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has made an important announcement regarding the registration of all unregistered vehicles in the province after the revelation of the existence of millions of unregistered vehicles in the merged districts.
According to officials, unregistered vehicles can pose security threats to the state as they can be used in terrorist attacks and other criminal activities. Keeping this in view, measures have been taken by the KP Excise Department to register all vehicles.
In its documents, the KP Excise Department says that about 450,000 vehicles in the province will be registered and there will also be profiling of all non-custom paid vehicles. Profiling of vehicles will be started in the first phase from Lower Dir District as the district authorities and police have certain duties for that.
Registration centres will be set up and a special application will be made available on smartphones to help people with registration. There is also a timeline fixed by the KP Excise Department for the completion of this process.
KP govt announces major relief for government employees
Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Finance Minister Muzammil Aslam has announced that salaries will be released to government employees of the province on May 20 amid Eid al-Azha preparations.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced the release of salaries to government employees a week before Eid. So that government employees can do their Eid shopping on time.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Minister Muzammil Aslam has said that in view of Eid-ul-Azha, it has been decided to pay salaries early to provide timely financial facilities to employees.
On the other hand, markets, bazaars, and shopping malls in Islamabad have been temporarily exempted from the restriction on business hours.
According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, all shops, bazaars, and shopping malls in the federal capital will be exempted from the restriction on working hours until May 31.
The notification states that bakeries, tandoors, restaurants, and grocery stores will also be exempted from this restriction, while this decision will come into effect immediately.
According to the Cabinet Division, this step has been taken with the approval of the Prime Minister to facilitate business activities.
