PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa paid rich tributes to the sacrifices of the Police Force in the province and said that the police forces have been confronted with violent terrorism for the last four decades.

Addressing the Police Darbar, the Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said that the current situation is extraordinary in the province, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been under the grip of terrorism for four decades. He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police fought terrorism bravely for 21 years despite limited resources, and the entire nation is proud of the sacrifices made against terrorism.

He remarked that the bravery with which you are fighting terrorists is commendable, and if we fight for the sake of Allah and the interest of the people, terrorists would be defeated, and the police would be victorious. He vowed to restore peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at all costs, and decisions made in closed rooms are no longer acceptable. He said that bulletproof vehicles, modern weapons, and anti-drone systems are being provided to the police, and there need for the latest technology on an emergency basis.

He mentioned that the lack of resources will not be a hurdle in the path of security, and a special policy will be made for the families of martyred civil servants. He vowed that there would be no political interference in the affairs of officers, but results would have to be given.

“There is zero tolerance against corruption, no concessions will be made to anyone, and an open door policy has been adopted for the public,” he remarked. He said that the performance of government officers will be measured through performance indicators. On this occasion Chief Secretary, the Inspector General of Police, Additional Chief Secretaries, and Administrative Secretaries of Provincial Departments attended the Darbar.

On this occasion, Fateha was offered to the martyrs of the civil administration and police. He said that some people are not involved in politics but are interfering everywhere. Those whose job is to provide justice are not able to do so, which makes things worse. He said that according to Imran Khan’s vision, we have to provide relief to the people, and we have to make decisions for the people.
