Pakistan’s commercial banks will extend their working hours until 10:00 PM Today (Wednesday, September 30, 2026,) to help taxpayers complete over-the-counter payments of government duties and taxes before the deadline.
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) issued the directive following a request from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). Banks have also been instructed to support special clearing arrangements for government transactions and ensure uninterrupted digital payment services through internet banking, mobile apps, ATMs and other online channels.
Taxpayers can therefore use both physical branches and digital banking facilities to complete their payments on time. This post is for informational purposes only and is based on publicly available reports.
