Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is experiencing hot, mostly dry weather today, 10th September, and this trend will continue for several more days across the province, except in northern Pakistan.
According to the Met Office, the province recorded clear skies in the morning with temperatures around 31 degrees, and it rose to 38 degrees in the afternoon, feeling like 42 degrees. The UV index remains very high at 9, so people are advised to avoid direct sunlight.
In Peshawar, the current temperature is around 30 degrees with humidity at 69 percent and a light breeze. The high for today is 35 degrees, and the low is 25 degrees. There is only a slight chance of rain around 20 percent, so most parts of the province will stay dry.
For tomorrow, 11th September, the weather will remain similar, hot and mostly sunny, with afternoon temperatures reaching 39 degrees, feeling like 44 degrees. Light rain is forecast in the morning and afternoon in Peshawar and other parts of KP, including Dir, Swat, and Chitral. The chance of rain is around 60 percent, with light showers of 1 to 2 millimetres.
The temperature will still be hot at 38 degrees during the day. From 15th to 16th September, a stronger spell is expected. On Tuesday there is an 80 percent chance of rain with 1.4 to 2.7 millimetres and strong winds up to 44 kilometers per hour. On Wednesday, the chance is 60 percent with heavier rain up to 3.8 millimetres. This spell may bring relief from the heat, but travelers in hilly areas should take precautions against thunderstorms and landslides.
Authorities advise citizens to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities between 11 am and 4 pm due to the heatwave.
