MUZAFARABAD: Renowned political and public leader Ihsan Shabbir Sherani has officially announced his complete detachment and separation from the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Awami Action Committee.
Talking to his supporters and media representatives, Ihsan Shabbir Sherani clarified that he has taken this important decision to part ways with the committee after an in-depth review of the recent strategic changes within the alliance.
He stressed that although he is fully committed to protecting the regional interests of Azad Kashmir and the rights of the people, he can no longer go along with the current direction, decision-making process, and strategy of the Action Committee’s leadership.
Ihsan Shabbir Sherani further said that he will now take forward his future political strategy and struggle for public rights independently or from a new platform that truly represents the real problems, grievances, and aspirations of the local population.
On the other hand, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Public Action Committee, which has been at the forefront of protest movements and public rights campaigns in the region in recent times, has not yet issued an official response to Ihsan Shabbir Sherani’s decision.
However, political analysts believe that Sherani’s withdrawal could lead to major changes in local political alignments and could also affect the committee’s influence in key districts.
