ISLAMABAD: Citizens living in rented houses can update their current residential address on their Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) by submitting acceptable proof of residence to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
According to NADRA’s public awareness guidance, tenants seeking to change or update their residential address can visit their nearest NADRA Registration Centre with the required documents.
Acceptable proof of residence may include a rent agreement or an affidavit provided by the property owner. Citizens can also submit a computerised electricity, gas or water bill issued in their own name or in the name of their parents or spouse.
NADRA has advised applicants to bring the relevant documents to their nearest registration centre to complete the address-update process.
The facility is particularly useful for people who move to another city or locality for employment, business or other reasons and wish to have their current residential address reflected on their CNIC.
