ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to integrate their databases, aiming to simplify the attestation of educational documents and improve online services.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the integration will streamline the verification and attestation process through digital certificates and online services, helping reduce delays in document processing.
The new system is expected to eliminate the need for in-person visits to offices in most cases, providing particular convenience to overseas Pakistanis seeking attestation of their educational documents.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said improving consular services had remained one of his priorities. He noted that Pakistan introduced the apostille system in 2024 and described making educational document attestation more accessible and convenient as a positive step.
Ishaq Dar also appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, HEC and other stakeholders in advancing the initiative.
The database integration is expected to improve service delivery by making the attestation process more efficient, accessible and digitally streamlined.
