RIYADH: Renowned American actor Giancarlo Esposito, best known for his portrayal of Gus Fring in the acclaimed television series Breaking Bad, has reportedly embraced Islam during a recent visit to Saudi Arabia.
According to Saudi media reports, Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, said Esposito made the decision while staying in the Kingdom.
Giancarlo Esposito, an actor who has had a successful career spanning many decades, has acted in many popular movies such as Better Call Saul and The Mandalorian in addition to ‘Breaking Bad’.
According to Turki Al-Sheikh, Esposito’s conversion came as a result of good experiences during his stay in Saudi Arabia as well as interaction with Muslims.
Videos that have been posted on social media showed Esposito praying in a mosque along with other members of the production team.
The news has been attracting considerable attention from fans of the actor and social media users all over the world. However, there is no public announcement of the conversion from Esposito himself.
The actor continues to be one of the most respected stars in Hollywood cinema.
