ISLAMABAD: England fast bowler Brydon Carse has been out of the second Test against Pakistan at Lord’s after a video emerged of him in handcuffs outside a nightclub in Derby.
Carse was seen surrounded by police officers outside a nightclub in Derby on Saturday night, following Durham’s victory over Derbyshire in the County Championship. After the video surfaced, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced an investigation and referred the matter to the independent Cricket Regulator.
The Cricket Regulator has also confirmed it is investigating the incident. According to the ECB, Carse will not be available for the second Test until the investigation is completed and the facts of the incident are established.
Fast bowler Sonny Baker has been added to England’s Test squad as Carse’s replacement. Reports state that Brydon Carse was neither arrested nor charged with any criminal offense in connection with the incident. Derbyshire Police have not yet issued any official statement on the matter.
