ISLAMABAD: The Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment has issued an important public advisory warning Pakistanis seeking jobs abroad against fraudsters operating in the name of overseas employment and visas.
The government agency urged citizens to remain vigilant and clarified that Trade Testing Centres have no role in issuing or processing visas.
According to the official advisory, advertisements for overseas employment can only be published by a licensed Overseas Employment Promoter (OEP) who has obtained the required permission from the Protector of Emigrants.
The Bureau said every legally authorised job advertisement must carry a Permission Tracking Number, enabling applicants to verify the authenticity of the employment opportunity.
After receiving legal approval, the role of a Trade Testing Centre is limited to conducting skill tests for workers under the supervision of the relevant recruiting agency. Such centres have no authority to provide visas or handle visa processing.
The Bureau warned that if any Trade Testing Centre claims to have visas available for overseas employment, it is engaging in fraud.

Citizens can verify overseas job advertisements through the Bureau of Emigration’s official Foreign Jobs Portal before proceeding with any offer.
Furthermore, the advisory asked the people not to give their original passports or money to any Trade Testing Centre in relation to jobs abroad and visas.
In case a Trade Testing Centre is asking for money in return for getting visas, citizens have been advised to complain to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) at once and send copies of their complaints to the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment.
The Bureau emphasized that people should always confirm their overseas job opportunities from official sources before paying or giving any personal documents.
