Governor KP Announces Major Increase in Compensation for Police Martyrs

PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has announced a significant increase in the compensation packages for police martyrs, injured personnel, and officers, and introduced a new financial assistance policy for the families of martyrs.

According to details shared by the Governor, the compensation for martyrs from Constable to Inspector rank has been increased from Rs. 11 million to Rs. 17 million, while for DSP and ASP rank martyrs, the amount has been raised from Rs. 16 million to Rs. 25 million.

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stated that compensation for police officers has also been increased. DSP compensation has been fixed at Rs. 10.7 million. SP, SSP, and Grade 18 officers’ compensation increased to Rs. 20 million. DIG, Additional IG, IGP and senior officers of Grade 20 and above, compensation increased from Rs. 21 million to Rs. 35 million.

Faisal Karim Kundi announced that compensation for police personnel suffering permanent disability during duty has been increased from Rs. 500,000 to Rs. 5 million, while the package for personnel severely injured during duty has been increased from Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 1.5 million.

The Governor said that instead of giving plots to the families of martyrs, it has been decided to provide cash financial assistance to buy a house as per their own needs. Under this policy, families of martyrs of ASI, SI and Inspector rank will be provided Rs. 25 million instead of a plot.

Faisal Karim Kundi said that the purpose of the new policy is to reduce the difficulties of the families of police martyrs and to provide better financial support to the personnel who lose their lives or get injured during duty and their families.

He said that police are fighting on the front line against terrorism and the sacrifices of KP Police are unforgettable. The government stands with the families of martyrs. This increase is being seen as a historic step for the morale and welfare of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, which has rendered immense sacrifices in the war against terrorism.
