PESHAWAR: The development journey continues in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as 27 more new buses for BRT Peshawar arrived at Chamkani Depot this morning, completing the delivery of all 52 new buses purchased for the project.

According to the spokesperson of TransPeshawar, 25 new buses had arrived in Peshawar last month, while with the arrival of 27 more buses today, the total number of buses in the BRT fleet has increased to 296.

According to TransPeshawar, the induction of new buses will help in providing better travel facilities to passengers, while the increase in the number of buses will also increase the possibilities of improving the existing service and launching new routes.

The arrival of the new buses is expected to reduce the rush during peak hours and will further improve the efficiency of the Zu Peshawar BRT system, which is used by hundreds of thousands of passengers daily.

The spokesperson of TransPeshawar, while clarifying the videos circulating on social media regarding the transportation of new buses, said that contrary to the claims made on social media, the new buses were not being taken out of Peshawar but were being brought to Peshawar.

He clarified that some videos were being presented in a misleading manner, claiming that BRT buses were being sent to Punjab. This propaganda has been exposed with the arrival of all buses.

He said, “With the arrival of all 52 new buses in Peshawar, the reality of the claims circulating on social media has become clear.

TransPeshawar administration has appealed to the public not to pay attention to rumours and to get information from official sources.
