ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to end the austerity measures implemented in the country while approving the maintenance of business hours.
According to the Cabinet Division, all additional restrictions implemented since March 9 this year have been withdrawn with immediate effect.
Under the new orders, markets, shopping malls and bazaars across the country will now be closed at 9 pm, while wedding halls, marquees and other event venues will be allowed to remain open until 10 pm.
Similarly, restaurants, cafes and food outlets will be able to continue their business until 11 pm, while takeaway and home delivery services have been completely exempted from these closure hours.
According to the government decision, pharmacies, hospitals, laboratories and clinics will be able to remain open 24 hours a day for public convenience. Along with this, CNG pumps, electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, bakeries, tandoors, IT companies, call centers and sports facilities will also be exempted from any time restrictions.
The Cabinet Division has clarified that other austerity measures implemented before the Middle East crisis will continue to be in place.
