PESHAWAR: There is good news for government employees as the notification for revised basic pay scales and allowances has been issued.
According to media sources revised pay scales have been enforced for employees of local government institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Local Council Board has issued the notification for Basic Pay Scales and Allowances 2026.
Under the notification, a seven percent Ad-hoc Relief Allowance 2026 has been approved for local government employees. The new pay scales will apply to officers and officials of the Local Council Board. Employees of the Local Governance School will also benefit from the revised pay scales.
In addition, new pay scales have also been implemented for employees of the Capital Metropolitan Government Peshawar. The scales will apply to employees of all Tehsil Municipal Administrations across the province.
The decision regarding the pay scales was made in light of a letter from the KP Finance Department dated July 22, 2026. The new pay scales and seven percent Ad-hoc Relief Allowance will take effect from July 1. Allowances will be applicable to employees of local government institutions subject to terms and conditions.
