SWAT:Police in Swat took immediate action after a video went viral on social media showing a young man being tortured, and arrested five people including the victim’s father, police said.
According to Madyan Police Station, the video that circulated online yesterday showed several men in a closed room cutting the hair of a young man, assaulting him, and blackening his face.
Taking strict notice of the incident, District Police Officer Swat Mushtaq Ahmad ordered immediate action. SHO Madyan Police Station Aziz Khan along with a police team traced and arrested the suspects allegedly involved in the assault.
Police said the arrested include the victim’s father Aqal Muhammad, his three brothers Ehsan, Barkat Ali and Anwar Ali, and his uncle.
Officials stated that the father, along with his sons and brother, allegedly tortured his son Gran Bacha for dancing at weddings and other events. The accused also cut the youth’s hair and smeared his face with ink.
A case has been registered against the arrested individuals and they have been sent to jail. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
