PESHAWAR: The case regarding the alleged abduction of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Minister Fazal Shakoor has been formally registered at Chamkani Police Station.
According to police sources, the FIR was lodged on the complaint of the minister’s brother, Major (R) Anwar Aziz.The text of the FIR states that Fazal Shakoor was traveling from his native area Mira Prang, Charsadda to the Provincial Assembly in Peshawar when the incident occurred.
It further states that near the M-1 Motorway Toll Plaza, some uniformed personnel along with plainclothes persons attacked his vehicle and abducted him.
The complainant stated that Provincial Minister Fazal Shakoor, along with his driver Qaisar Khan and his security guard, are missing since the incident.
Police have registered a case against unknown persons and started an investigation. The alleged abduction has triggered political tension in the province, with PTI leaders calling it an attack on the sanctity of elected representatives.
