FIFA, the world football body, has announced the immediate suspension of the Nepal Football Association, after which Nepal’s national and club teams have been barred from participating in any international football event.

According to a statement issued by FIFA, the decision has been made under Article 16 and will remain in effect until further notice. After the suspension, the Nepal Football Association has lost all its membership rights.

According to FIFA, as a result of this decision, no player, coach or official from Nepal will be allowed to participate in programs, training camps and competitions of not only FIFA but also the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

The move is being linked to serious violations of international football laws, however, FIFA did not immediately release detailed reasons.

Following this decision, an uncertain situation has arisen in Nepali football and there is serious concern in sports circles.

According to experts, the suspension could have a direct impact on Nepal’s football structure, player development, and international performance.
