ISLAMABAD: Easypaisa has expanded its digital insurance marketplace in Pakistan, offering consumers a range of affordable insurance and protection plans covering health, life, income, mobile phones, vehicles and travel.
The digital platform allows users to browse available plans, select coverage according to their needs and activate policies directly through the Easypaisa app. Customers can also submit insurance claims digitally, reducing the need to visit offices or deal with traditional paperwork.
Insurance Coverage Starting at Rs2 a Day
Easypaisa’s current health insurance offering provides up to Rs30,000 in hospitalization coverage and up to Rs10,000 in accidental outpatient coverage. The plan starts at Rs2 per day, or Rs60 per month.
Income Protection plans offer coverage of up to Rs50,000 for eligible income-related losses, with some plans starting at Rs1 per day or Rs100 per month.
The marketplace also includes life and accidental protection plans under Easypaisa’s Tahafuz range. Tahafuz Daily is priced at Rs2 per day, while Tahafuz Monthly costs Rs50 per month. Tahafuz Plus is available for Rs75 per month, and an annual Tahafuz plan is priced at Rs500.
Other options include Mobile Protection at Rs100 per month or Rs1,000 annually. Income Protection plans are available at different coverage levels, including monthly options priced at Rs100 and Rs150.
Takaful Savings Solution
Easypaisa has also partnered with EFU Life to introduce a Shariah-compliant Takaful Savings Solution.
The product allows customers to start saving through the Easypaisa app while offering the potential for annual halal returns of up to 8%, along with Takaful protection.
The initiative combines digital savings and financial protection within a single platform, giving consumers an alternative to conventional insurance and savings arrangements.
Partnerships with Insurance Providers
When launching its digital insurance marketplace, Easypaisa partnered with several insurance and healthcare providers, including EFU Life, EFU General, IGI Life and IGI General, as well as providers offering doctor consultation services.
The marketplace is designed to give customers access to multiple products through a single digital platform rather than requiring them to visit individual insurance companies or their websites.
Affordable Financial Protection
Among the lowest-priced offerings, Income Protection is available from around Rs1 per day, equivalent to approximately Rs365 annually. Tahafuz Monthly costs Rs50 per month, while the Health/Webdoc monthly plan is priced at Rs60.
According to the information provided, these premiums are listed in Easypaisa’s official Schedule of Bank Charges.
The expansion reflects a broader push toward making insurance more accessible to consumers through digital financial services, particularly those seeking basic protection at relatively low premiums.
Customers should, however, review the coverage limits, exclusions, eligibility requirements, premium terms and claims procedures before activating any plan, as benefits and conditions vary across products.
