ISLAMABAD: Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has said that no power in the world can cast an evil eye on Pakistan, reiterating that the country remains determined to counter terrorism and protect its sovereignty.
Addressing a press briefing, the DG ISPR said that three major terrorist incidents had recently occurred in Balochistan in which innocent civilians were targeted by what he described as Fitna ul Hindustan and Fitna ul Khawarij.
He said that India was behind these terror incidents in Balochistan, claiming that hostile elements were supporting terrorist activities aimed at disturbing peace, stability, and development in the province.
Regarding the recent terror incidents in Balochistan, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that the enemy could not digest the prosperity, peace, and development taking place in Balochistan, adding that attempts were being made to undermine the province’s progress through acts of terrorism.
He said terrorist groups had targeted innocent civilians and security personnel, but the people of Balochistan and police forces had countered the terrorists’ notorious designs with courage and determination.
The DG ISPR also alleged that the Afghan Taliban regime was facilitating terrorists, claiming that militant networks were receiving support and space to carry out activities against Pakistan.
He further said that Pakistan would take strict action against illegal foreign nationals, warning that “we will throw out all illegal Afghan nationals” as part of measures to address security concerns.
Discussing recent security incidents, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that the Karachi attack was planned in Afghanistan, alleging that external elements were involved in planning and executing terrorist activities targeting Pakistan.
The military spokesperson said that a police checkpost was attacked in Ziarat, following which security forces launched an operation against the attackers. According to the DG ISPR, 15 terrorists were killed during the operation in Ziarat.
He further stated that 42 security personnel had laid down their lives during three operations in Balochistan, paying the ultimate sacrifice in the fight against terrorism and efforts to restore peace in the province.
During the briefing, the DG ISPR issued a strong warning to India, saying: “We will make an example out of you,” while referring to what he described as hostile activities against Pakistan.
He said terrorists had also kidnapped children, describing such actions as part of attempts to spread fear and create instability among local communities.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said security forces, along with the people of Balochistan and law enforcement agencies, remain committed to defeating terrorist networks and ensuring lasting peace and development in the province.
