FAISALABAD: A court in Faisalabad has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for 51 accused, including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders and lawmakers, in connection with a case registered over a political rally held in 2019.

The court ordered the arrest and production of Talal Chaudhry, Musadik Malik, Mian Javed Latif and other accused in the case.

According to the court order, non-bailable warrants have also been issued for Shahbaz Babar, Rao Kashif, Jaffar Ali, Qasim Farooq, Ejaz Warq, Haji Akram Ansari and Mian Abdul Mannan.

The court declared all the absconding accused as proclaimed offenders and directed the Station House Officer (SHO) of Factory Area Police Station to arrest them and produce them before the court on October 12.

The case was registered on July 22, 2019, in connection with a political rally that proceeded from Jhang Bazaar towards Fawara Chowk in Faisalabad.

The charges reportedly include the alleged unlawful use of loudspeakers, disruption of traffic flow and sloganeering during the rally.
