PESHAWAR: Cold and partly cloudy weather is expected to prevail over most parts of Pakistan, the meteorological department said on Friday.

Rain, accompanied by snowfall over mountainous areas, is likely in Northwest Pakistan, Northern Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and the Potohar region.

Meanwhile, fog and smog are expected to persist in several districts of Punjab and Upper Sindh, the department added, cautioning commuters to take necessary precautions.

Meteorological officials have also warned of possible fog formation at a few locations, particularly in Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, Dera Ismail Khan, and adjoining areas during night and morning hours. Reduced visibility may affect travel in these districts, and commuters are advised to exercise caution.
