SHANGLA (Sohail Hassan): A young coal miner from Puran Shangla died in a tragic incident that occurred in a coal mine in Hyderabad, Sindh.

A young miner, Ziaullah, son of Abdul Rehman from Sandvi Faiza village in Puran, Shangla district, tragically lost his life after being buried under rubble due to a landslide during excavation.

According to reports, the accident happened while routine excavation work was underway when a sudden slide occurred, resulting in the young labourer’s death.

It is important to note that many labourers in coal mines across the country come from the economically disadvantaged Shangla district and are compelled to work in hazardous conditions to support their families. Locals have reported that such accidents are becoming increasingly common due to the lack of proper safety measures in coal mines.

Residents and community members have expressed their sorrow, stating that the hard work of these labourers contributes significantly to the national economy, yet tragically, all that is returned to Shangla are the bodies of young workers.

People are calling on the government and relevant authorities to urgently improve safety protocols in coal mines to prevent further loss of precious lives.
