LAHORe: The Deputy Commissioner of Lahore has officially announced a significant relaxation in the operating hours for shops, businesses, and markets across the city, effective until June 1, 2026.

Under this new directive, business centres are no longer required to adhere to the previous 8:00 PM closure mandate, a move specifically designed to provide much-needed relief to the local trading community.

Captain (retd) Muhammad Ali Ijaz, the Deputy Commissioner, stated that this decision is expected to further energise economic activities by allowing more flexibility for commercial operations. He emphasised that the primary goal of the extension is to facilitate a more convenient shopping experience for citizens, particularly during the evening hours. By removing the early closure restriction, the administration aims to bolster the city’s economic momentum and support the business community in maintaining steady growth throughout the month.
