CHARSADDA: To facilitate the transgender community in seeking police assistance, Charsadda Police have decided to establish separate desks at police stations and the Police Facilitation Centre.
District Police Officer (DPO) Charsadda Rifatullah Khan (PSP) issued the directives during a meeting with a delegation of the transgender community led by Sobia Khan, who serves in the Prisons Department. The delegation briefed the DPO on various issues being faced by members of the community. Rifatullah Khan listened to their concerns and directed the relevant police officials to take immediate steps to address them.
The DPO also ordered the establishment of special transgender desks at police stations and the Police Facilitation Centre to make it easier for members of the community to seek police assistance.Rifatullah Khan said Charsadda Police were committed to protecting the lives and property of every citizen and providing legal assistance and services without discrimination.
He assured the delegation that all possible facilities would be provided to the transgender community and that their police-related issues would be addressed on a priority basis.
