LAHORE: Former Mmember of the National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) leader Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf has passed away at the age of 90, family sources said.
Ashraf remained active in national politics for several decades and was regarded as a longstanding associate of former prime minister and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif.
He was elected to the National Assembly four times on a PML-N ticket. He also served as a member of the Pakistan Bar Council and as former Parliamentary Secretary for Education.
Ashraf also held key parliamentary and legal positions, including chairman of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Law and Justice and vice chairman of the Pakistan Bar Council.
According to family sources, his funeral prayers will be offered at 10am on Saturday, September 26, at Masjid Shuhada in Fareed Town.
