Awami National Party Central President Senator Aimal Wali Khan has issued a show cause notice to former Mayor Mardan Himayatullah Mayar for alleged violation of party discipline and constitutional principles.
According to party sources, Himayatullah Mayar has been asked to explain within three days whether he is simultaneously a member of any other organization and if so, is this action in accordance with the ANP constitution?
The notice also expresses serious concern that the organization with which he is reported to be affiliated aims to divide Pakhtuns on tribal lines, which is completely contrary to the philosophy and struggle of Bacha Khan Baba.
The party has always been against tribal division and has struggled for the unity, consciousness and development of the Pakhtun nation and deviation from this ideology by any member will not be tolerated.
The party has warned that in case of failure to provide a satisfactory response, strict disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with the party constitution.
