KARAK: The district chapter of the Awami National Party (ANP) in Karak has announced the termination of the basic membership of former Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Gul Sahib Khan Khattak.

According to a statement issued by ANP Karak District Information Secretary Abdul Rehman Khattak, the former lawmaker was issued a show-cause notice on August 3, 2026, over alleged violations of the party’s code of conduct and organisational discipline.

The notice, signed by district president Shahnawaz Khattak, required Gul Sahib Khan Khattak to submit his explanation within three days. However, the party said no response or clarification was received within the given timeframe.

Following the instructions of the provincial leadership and consultations within the district organisation, headed by Shahnawaz Khattak, the decision was taken to terminate his basic party membership, the statement said.

The ANP district spokesperson said that after the decision, Gul Sahib Khan Khattak no longer holds any organisational or party affiliation with the ANP and will not be authorised to use the party’s name, platform, or represent it in any activity.

The notification was issued by the ANP Karak district information secretary.
