The government of Afghanistan has expressed its desire to engage in dialogue with Pakistan in order to resolve the ongoing conflict, according to spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.

In a statement reported by Al Jazeera, Mujahid indicated that the Afghan side seeks discussions to address the current tensions and put an end to hostilities. He emphasised that diplomatic engagement is the preferred approach for settling disputes between the two countries.

Neither side has yet announced details about the proposed dialogue.
