Pakistan army and Air Force conduct 10 major strikes across Afghanistan today

Earlier, Pakistan Army and Air Force on Monday conducted 10 major strikes in multiple locations of Afghanistan, killing dozens of Afghan Taliban in the operation.

According to security sources, Pakistan’s security forces launched a massive “punishment fire plan” across multiple sectors of the Pak-Afghan border on Monday, systematically degrading the military infrastructure of the Tehreek-I-Taliban Afghanistan (TTA).

According to a situation report released at 2200 hours on March 2, 2026, the operation was a resolute response to hostilities initiated by the TTA on February 26. Throughout the day, heavy weapons fire destroyed six additional TTA posts, while the Pakistan Air Force conducted 10 precision air strikes at various depth locations targeting terrorist hideouts and military assets.

In the Zinda Sector of North Waziristan, an attempted build-up of TTA forces was neutralised by punishing artillery, tank, and mortar fire. While the TTA attempted to engage with small arms fire from a distance, these efforts were swiftly suppressed. Security sources confirmed that while TTA and Khawarij casualties continue to mount, no casualties were sustained by Pakistani security forces across the entire front.

The scale of the TTA’s losses has become increasingly lopsided. Confirmed data indicates 458 killed and over 700 injured, with 202 posts destroyed and 33 captured. Additionally, 196 tanks, APCs, and vehicles have been decimated, alongside 53 locations targeted by air assets.

The intensity of the response has reportedly broken the TTA’s resolve. At numerous locations along the border, TTA forces have raised white flags on their remaining positions, signalling a desire for de-escalation and an unwillingness to continue the fight. In the Chitral sector, local elders have relayed a TTA request for a flag meeting to recover five bodies left behind during a Pakistani assault on February 26.

Strategically, Pakistan has consolidated its hold on the 32-square-kilometre Ghudwana Enclave in the Zhob sector. Most nearby TTA posts have been vacated or have surrendered under white flags. To secure the newly absorbed territory, heavy machinery has been deployed to excavate a 7-kilometre-long trench, fortifying the enclave against future incursions.
