PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Additional Advocate General Sardar Basharat Khan has resigned from his position, with his resignation taking effect on October 11, 2026.
According to the available details, Sardar Basharat Khan has submitted his resignation to the Advocate General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and requested that it be formally accepted.
During his tenure, he served as part of the provincial government’s legal team, representing the government in legal matters. In his resignation letter, he expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and the opportunity to serve in the position.
His resignation comes amid recent administrative changes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Federal Government Appoints New KP Chief Secretary
Earlier, the federal government has appointed Dr. Muhammad Fakhr Alam Irfan as the new Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to an official notification issued on October 11, 2026.
Dr. Irfan is a Grade-22 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) and was previously serving as Secretary of the Power Division under the Ministry of Energy.
According to the notification, his appointment as Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will take effect immediately and remain in force until further orders.
Dr. Muhammad Fakhr Alam Irfan hails from Mardan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The appointment places him at the helm of the province’s administrative machinery, following the federal government’s decision to assign him the key provincial post.
