PESHAWAR: Commissioner Peshawar Riaz Mehsud has been removed from his position and reportedly assigned as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD), according to reports.
Following his removal, questions have emerged regarding his tenure, the use of administrative powers, and allegations of political patronage during his time in office.
Mehsud has been described by critics as an officer favoured by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Allegations have also been made that he exercised influence with the backing of political connections. However, these claims require independent verification.
Claims concerning alleged corruption, financial irregularities, and misuse of authority have also circulated in connection with his tenure. No independently verified findings establishing these allegations were provided in the available information.
