PESHAWAR: Students appearing in the second annual matriculation examinations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) are expected to sit their Physics paper on Monday, October 12, 2026, as scheduled. The announcement comes amid uncertainty following the introduction of emergency measures and governor’s rule in the province.
The chairman of the Board Committee has stated that the examination will take place according to the existing timetable. However, he indicated that a change could be considered if the law and order situation takes a turn for the worse.
For now, students have been advised to continue their preparations and follow the date sheet issued by their respective examination boards. Candidates should also monitor official channels for any notification concerning a possible postponement.
According to the announced schedule for the 2026 second annual matric exams, the Physics examination is set for October 12. The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Peshawar has also released an updated date sheet for the ongoing examination session.
The development comes after reports that emergency measures and governor’s rule were imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on October 11, 2026, following approval by President Asif Ali Zardari. The reported decision cited Articles 232 and 234 of the Constitution and came amid mounting security concerns in the province.
Despite the changing situation, no official postponement of Monday’s Physics paper has been announced so far.
