DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur has decided to return from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march along with his supporters, saying he did not want to put workers at risk.
Addressing party workers in Dera Ismail Khan, Gandapur said Section 144 had been imposed in the area for three days and the party leadership had instructed workers to avoid vandalism and continue the movement peacefully.
“We cannot put our workers at risk,” Gandapur said, adding that roads had been blocked and it was not possible to move forward. He said the decision to return was therefore taken in view of the situation on the ground.
Gandapur also urged workers to focus on practical circumstances rather than relying on social media statements while making decisions.
