PESHAWAR: The Provincial Doctors Association (PDA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced its full support for the doctors’ strike call given by the Pakistan Doctors Association (PDA) for September 30.
In a statement issued on Monday, the association said that all private clinics across the province will remain closed tomorrow as a mark of protest.
The doctors said that the unjust and excessive taxes imposed by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on the medical community are unacceptable.
“Provincial Doctors Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa fully supports the strike call of Pakistan Doctors Association on September 30, and all clinics in the province will remain closed tomorrow. Unjustified taxes by the FBR are not acceptable,” the statement said.
The association demanded that the government immediately withdraw the unfair taxes and resolve the issues of the medical fraternity; otherwise, the scope of the protest will be widened.
